G7 FSOI Working Group meeting | 15 February 2023 | Virtual Meeting
On 15 February 2023, the G7 FSOI National Focal points met virtually under the Japanese G7 presidency for 2023 to finalize agreements on working arrangements and a new work plan, and to prepare coordinated text on ocean issues raised as part of the G7 Science Ministerial track meetings.
At this meeting, the G7 FSOI national focal points agreed on the Terms of Reference for G7 FSOI Working Group co-chairs. The co-chairs are chosen on a rotating basis to include the country holding the current G7 presidency and the country to hold the next G7 presidency. For 2023, the co-chairs of the G7 FSOI Working Group are Japan and Italy.
The new G7 FSOI Work Plan will be finalized by end of April and the G7 FSOI website will be updated to reflect updated priorities and activities.
The next session of the G7 FSOI Working Group will be held in Tokyo in November 2023.
